Fodor's Expert Review Interpretive Ranger Programs

Great Smoky Mountains National Park, NC Family

The National Park Service organizes activities like daily guided hikes and talks from spring to fall. The programs vary widely, from presentations on mountain culture, blacksmithing, and old-time fiddle and banjo music to tours through historical areas of the park. Many of the programs are suitable for older children as well as adults. The Oconaluftee Visitor Center is a good place to learn about park events.
