Interpretive Ranger Programs
Interpretive Ranger Programs Review
The National Park Service organizes all sorts of orientation activities, such as daily guided hikes and talks. The focus of the programs varies widely from talks on mountain culture to old-time fiddle and banjo music to ranger-led walks through historical areas of the park. Most are free, though a ranger-led hayride in Cades Cove costs $14. Many of the programs are suitable for older children as well as for adults. For schedules, go to the Oconaluftee Visitor Center or other park visitor centers and pick up a free copy of Smokies Guide newspaper, or check online for park events.
