Delta Air provides a connection to the Black Hills from Salt Lake City, Northwest Airlines offers service from Minneapolis, United Airlines flies direct from Denver and Chicago, and Allegiant Air has weekly service from Las Vegas and Phoenix. Frontier Airline's new service from Denver connects Rapid City to the low-cost carrier's hub.

Airports

Although there are several landing strips and municipal airports in the Black Hills, the only airport with commercial service is in Rapid City. Rapid City Regional Airport, one of the fastest-growing airports in the United States, is 11 mi east of town on Highway 44.
