Fodor's Review:

This is the park's main information hub and is open year-round. Definitely stop here first to pick up brochures and maps. June through August, a 22-minute video about Badlands geology and wildlife runs continually. The facility is named for a Sioux activist and the first Lakota to serve in Congress. Born on the nearby Rosebud Indian Reservation, Ben Reifel went on to Harvard University for his Ph.D and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

  • Open: June 3-Oct. 13, daily 8 AM-6 PM; Oct. 14-Apr. 15, daily 9-4; Apr. 16-June 2, daily 8-5
