Built in 1903, this imposing hotel has housed many famous guests, including John Wayne, Teddy Roosevelt, and Babe Ruth. It still has its original banisters, ceilings, and fireplace. The guest rooms are Victorian-style, with reproduction furniture, lace on hardwood tables, and flowery bedspreads. A bar on the second floor spills out onto the veranda above the white-columned hotel entrance, affording a great view down Main Street. The hotel had a major face-lift in 2006, which included an expanded casino and conference room. Pros: Recent renovations offer guests one of the nicest casinos in town, great views of the historic town. Cons: Parking is often a hike from the hotel with no valet service, and more room renovations are pending.
