Fodor's Review

Six bronze stars on the western wall mark where direct hits were made by General Sherman's cannons. The Capitol building, started in 1851 and completed in 1907, is made of native blue granite in the Italian-Renaissance style. The interior is richly appointed with brass, marble, mahogany, and artwork. Guided tours are available throughout the day.
