Sea Pines Resort Review

The oldest and best known of Hilton Head's developments, this resort occupies 4,500 thickly wooded acres with three golf courses, tennis clubs, stables, a fine beach, and shopping plazas. The focus of Sea Pines is Harbour Town, a charming marina with a luxury hotel, shops, restaurants, condominiums and vacation rental homes, and the landmark candy-cane-stripe Hilton Head Lighthouse. A free trolley shuttles visitors around the resort. Check out the Stoney-Baynard Ruins, the remnants of a plantation home and slave quarters built in the 1700s by Captain John "Saucy Jack" Stoney. On the National Register of Historic Sites, they're not easy to find, so ask for directions at the Sea Pines Welcome Center at the Greenwood Drive gate.
