Tree-shaded, this hotel, which is sheltered from the noise and traffic, is a good choice if you have kids. The two-bedroom family suites are surprisingly upscale; the parents' rooms are tastefully appointed, and the kids' rooms are cool enough to have foosball tables. King-size studios with sleeper sofas are another alternative for families. Breakfast is as Southern as country gravy and biscuits or as European as Belgian waffles. Major renovations throughout the buildings included the replacement of carpets, bedspreads, and other fabrics. Pros: good customer service; clean; eight different breakfast menus. Cons: not on a beach (the closest is Folly Field, 2 mi away); grounds are not memorable, and your view is often the parking lot.
