Fodor's Review

It's often hard to find the real thing, but this is true Gullah food: decadent, delicious, and comforting. Owner Dye Scott-Rhodan uses recipes handed down by generations of her Gullah family: fried chicken, shrimp and grits, collard greens, and Lowcountry boil (shrimp, smoked sausage, potatoes, corn, and seasonings). Wash it down with the South's most popular beverage, sweet tea. There is also a full bar, and a Sunday buffet from noon to 3.

New location, same great food!

Dye closed her Hilton Head location after the hurricane in 2016. She has reopened in Ridgeland, SC. 7605 W. Main Street, Ridgeland, SC 29936 phone: 843-645-0806. Not far off of I-95. website is www.dyesgullahfixins.com Best fried chicken on the planet and sweet tea to die for!
