Dataw Island. This upscale gated island community is home to two top-rated championship golf courses. Tom Fazio's Cotton Dike golf course features spectacular marsh views, while Arthur Hills's Morgan River course has ponds, marshes, wide-open fairways, and a lovely view of the river from the 14th hole. Fripp Island Golf & Beach Resort. This resort has a pair of championship courses. Ocean Creek was designed by Davis Love III and has sweeping views of saltwater marshes, while Ocean Point Golf Links was designed by George Cobb and runs alongside the ocean for 10 of its 18 holes. Fripp Island has been designated a national wildlife refuge, so you'll see plenty of animals, particularly marsh deer and a host of migratory birds.
