Great Swamp Sanctuary
Great Swamp Sanctuary Review
Boardwalks and hiking, biking, and canoe trails weave through this lovely 842-acre park. One of the paths traces the colonial-era Charleston-to-Savannah Stagecoach Road, where visitors can still see the cypress remnants of historic bridges. Serious hikers bring their gear and spend hours. It is a Southern swamp, so douse yourself with insect repellant and be on alert for reptiles.
