The Hampton House Bed & Breakfast Review

Built in 1912 by the patriarch of the prominent Fishburne family, this B&B has all of the accoutrements of a Lowcountry mansion, from its high ceilings to the charming literary nook, as well as modern-day luxuries such as a crescent-shaped pool, tennis court, gardens, and brickwork designed by the celebrated landscape architect Robert Marvin. There's even a garden pergola. The owners are hospitable and graciously assist guests. The country breakfast can be taken in the formal dining room or in the garden. Within the elegantly decorated B&B, contemporary artwork is juxtaposed with heirloom antiques and chandeliers. The guest rooms have canopied or four-poster queen-size beds. The owners' collection of vintage dollhouses, paper dolls, Barbies, and antique dolls is in the former parlor and available for viewing by pre-arranged tour (you can purchase the collectibles, too).
