Courtyard by Marriott Charleston Historic District Review

Step off the historic streets of Charleston into the high-tech, modern lobby of this hotel that opened in 2011 after a down-to-the-studs renovation. A boarding-pass printing station is at the ready, a tucked-away media center boasts a big-screen TV, and the Courtyard Bistro sells cocktails, coffee, and breakfast and dinner fare. Guest rooms are equally suited to the modern traveler, with ergonomic plug-and-play workstations, Paul Mitchell toiletries, and flat-screen TVs. Ceiling fans and framed photographs of Charleston give these spaces a homey feel. Kids will love the heated outdoor pool, and fitness buffs will be impressed by the spacious gym.
