Fodor's Expert Review Tristan
Editor's Note: This location is no longer in operation.
Within the French Quarter Inn, this fine dining room has a sleek, contemporary style with lots of metal, glass, contemporary art, and fresh flowers. The menu has been purposely tailored to complement the decor: it's ultrachic, innovative, and always evolving. The banquettes that line the wall are sought after, so ask for one when you reserve. Chef Nate Whiting emphasizes market-fresh fish, artisanal pasta, and Lowcountry comforts such as she-crab soup. Pastry chef Amanee Nierouz also tantalizes with sorbets, pudding cakes, and parfaits. After dark, the prices escalate—it's a status place with a sophisticated bar scene. On Sunday there's a fab brunch with a jazz trio, and residents of the Holy City reserve for after church.
