Taco Boy

Taco Boy Review

Accommodating visitors and locals alike, Taco Boy delivers tasty Mexican treats to a bustling patio crowd. The restaurant belongs to Revolutionary Eating Ventures (REV), the talented gang behind Monza and Moe's Tavern, two other restaurants found in this guide. REV casts an eye toward sustainability at Taco Boy, constructing the restaurant (in its previous life an old bread-distribution warehouse) with rehabbed or reclaimed materials—right down to the bar counter, carved from a fallen North Carolina walnut tree. It's a forward-thinking and fun joint, perfect for downing margaritas and micheladas (beer with lime juice, tomato juice, and chilies) or sharing a sampler trio of house-made guacamole and salsas. For beach-bound travelers, Folly Beach—south of downtown Charleston—boasts the original Taco Boy restaurant on Center Street.
