Charleston Nightlife

Gin Joint

Gin Joint Review

The cocktails here—frothy Ramos Fizzes, Sazeracs, slings, smashes, and juleps—are retro, some pre-Prohibition. The bartenders don bowties and suspenders, but the atmosphere is utterly contemporary, with slick gray walls and subtle lighting. The bar is named after Humphrey Bogart's famous line in Casablanca: "Of all the gin joints, in all the towns, in all the world, she walks into mine." The kitchen serves up small plates like foie gras torchon, pheasant potpie, sweets, and cheeses.
