Aloft Charleston Airport & Convention Center Review
Designed with the young, hip, and high-tech traveler in mind, this hotel is retro-meets-the-Jetsons. From the touch-screen check-in kiosks that let you print your boarding pass to the stylish bar and pool table, this is a hotel for the IKEA generation. The small rooms continue the '70s-chic look with brown-striped accent pillows and wall panels. The bathrooms have natural lighting and Bliss spa products. For the techie, there are 42-inch flat-screen TVs with connected entertainment systems that plug into your MP3 player or laptop, as well as complimentary Wi-Fi throughout the hotel. That, plus the inexpensive price tag, may tempt you away from downtown Charleston. But be forewarned, while central to the Convention Center, outlet malls, and airport, it's a $20 cab ride from downtown.
