Fodor's Review:

First built in 1825 in late-Federal style, the Edmondston-Alston House was transformed into the imposing Greek Revival structure you see today during the 1840s. Tours of the home—furnished with antiques, portraits, silver, and fine china—are informative.

Right in the Battery area amid several similar gems, this is a huge plantation style historic house, lovely inside and out with plenty of personal effects. Tour is helpful and informative, price on the high side. Has a nice view of the harbor and Ft. Sumter. Well worth the visit.
