Fodor's Review:

Randolph Hall—an 1828 building with a majestic Greek Revival portico designed by Philadelphia architect William Strickland—anchors the central Cistern area of the college. Draping oaks envelop the Cistern's lush green quad, where graduation ceremonies and concerts take place. The college was founded in 1770. Scenes from Cold Mountain were filmed here.
