Ken Vedrinkski, who achieved 5-star status for The Woodlands, continues to enjoy rave reviews for this, his own laid-back eatery. Sumptuous meals here have all the flavor, complexity, and flair befitting a celebrity chef—but without the pomp. You may taste things here that you have never heard of before, and the menu changes daily according to the seasonal markets. Every day Ken hand-makes his gnudis (like a gnocchi but made with cheese instead of potato) or "naked raviolis" with such fillings as morel mushrooms in a Parmesan broth. Four- and seven-course tasting menus are the way to dine, and they can be paired with wine. Well worth the drive over the bridges, it's the best of downtown dining, minus the crowds and paid parking.
