$$-$$$$, Italian, Daniel Island
Fodor's Review:
Sumptuous meals here have all the flavor and flair befitting a celebrity chef -- but without the pomp. Ken Vedrinkski, who earned the Woodlands rave reviews, opened this laid-back eatery in 2004. You may taste things you have never heard of before, such as his "deconstructed" tiramisu that separates the cake, the gelato, and the panacotta. Four- and seven-course tasting menus are the way to dine. Well worth the drive over the bridges, it's the best of downtown dining, minus the crowding and price markups.
