Woodlands Resort & Inn Review

With the distinct feel of an English country estate, this Preferred Hotel Group property has individually decorated rooms with nice touches like Frette linens. This 1906 Greek Revival-style inn completed a much-needed, major refurbishment of its interior and all of its guest rooms. A new casual dining option was created, too. The service and quality of the accommodations are exceptional, and the restaurant ($$$$) is one of the finest in this part of the country. Diners can choose a multicourse tasting menu or make a selection from the à la carte menu. Sunday brunch is locally popular, too, but there is no Sunday dinner. The wine events, cooking demonstrations, and tastings are well worth doing. Wine pairings by long-standing sommelier Stéphane Peltier are perfection.
