The white rope hammock behind this secluded circa-1884 English-style stone mansion is where you want to be. Accomplished gardener Nancy Richards, who owns and operates this bed-and-breakfast with her husband Steven, has created a lovely sanctuary for rest and relaxation. The lush grounds are alive with blooming color most of the year, and a koi pond and walking path to the shore add to the tranquillity. Though only a mile from Narragansett Town Beach, this place provides a much different experience than your typical summerhouse. Rooms are light and airy, with English antiques, floral-upholstered furniture, and fireplaces. Try the French toast made from Portuguese sweet bread if it's offered that morning.
