Pane e Vino

Pane e Vino Review

This popular Federal Hill spot, whose name means "bread and wine" in Italian, offers fresh ingredients presented in a straightforward way. Portions are big in the Rhode Island comfort food tradition: appetizers like the braised escarole, house-made sausage, and cannellini beans over grilled artisanal bread are more like a lunch portion. Share a starch course if you dare, but keep in mind the veal chop may rival the one that tipped over Fred Flinstone's car. A $22.95 per person prix-fixe menu is available weekdays from 5 to 7 and all day Sunday. The dining room staff provides excellent service and tables in front near the window are especially suited for a romantic dinner. A gluten-free menu is also available.
