One of downtown's few mid-priced hotels is housed in a seven-story redbrick building carefully designed to match the other buildings in its historic Union Station Plaza location. Nearly all of the large rooms, in tones of tans and greens with mauve accents, have views of either the State House, Waterplace Park, or the Financial District. The hotel is steps away from the Providence Place mall. Pros: many rooms overlook riverfront, price is reasonable, central location. Cons: rooms are a bit nondescript.
