A recent massive expansion added about 200 rooms to this multi-turreted 25-story hotel towers over Providence's compact downtown, connected by skywalks to the city's gleaming convention center and the Providence Place mall. Its rooms have reproduction period furniture, and half have king-size beds; many have views of the city. Restaurants include a very good steak house and a more casual American bistro. Pros: rooms have incredibly comfy heavenly beds, convenient location, wonderful views from upper floors. Cons: it can feel like a zoo when there's a convention going on.
