Fodor's Review

The two levels of this lively Italian restaurant founded by chef Brian Kingsford and partner Jennifer Matta offer unique dining experiences. The informal first floor has a deli case stocked with cured meats, cheeses, olives, and traditional Italian-style small plates; upstairs is a more traditional dining room with impressive views of the Providence River. There's also a beautiful garden patio. Every table receives a separate checklist of the cured meats and other items the deli sells, and selections come on a beautifully arranged board. The menu changes to emphasize seasonal, local ingredients, with offerings like pan-seared duck breast and confit of duck leg with roasted figs drizzled with wildflower honey. Save room for the house-made ice cream in Swiss chocolate almond, salted caramel, and other rich flavors.
