Rooms on the east side of this three-story 1858 Italianate brick town house have direct views of the State House, though Interstate 95 lies between the two. Most of the bright, simply furnished rooms have polished wide-pine floors and gas fireplaces, some with marble mantles. Two of the rooms have an extra twin bed, so you can bring along a friend. The free parking is a nice perk, especially since it's within walking distance of Downtown and Federal Hill. The hearty breakfast is prepared by a Johnson & Wales culinary school grad.
