Newport Music Festival Review

A great way to experience a Newport mansion is to take in one of the 60 or so classical music concerts presented every July during the Newport Music Festival. Morning, afternoon, evening, and even midnight performances by world-class artists are scheduled at The Elms, The Breakers, and other venues. Selected works are chosen from 19th-century chamber music, vocal repertoire, and Romantic-era piano literature. Every year features at least one American debut and a tribute to a composer. (The 2013 season will pay tribute to the bicentenary of Wagner and Verdi.)
