Part of the Thames Street Landing redevelopment along Bristol's dapper bay front, this contemporary 40-room hotel has been constructed with timber and architectural detailing from a pair of early-1800s buildings that stood here previously. The sunny rooms contain Colonial reproduction furniture, writing desks, and armoires, and many of them overlook Narragansett Bay. The on-site restaurant, DeWolf Tavern, is one of the best in the state, and the hotel is also steps from several shops and other restaurants. Thames Landing also has a marina and bike-rental shop. Pros: reasonably priced for a waterfront hotel, stellar restaurant, convenient location. Cons: other than shops and marina, there are no exterior grounds.
