Preservation Society of Newport County

Fodor's Review:

Eleven historic properties are maintained by the Preservation Society of Newport County. Both guided tours and audio tours are available; you can purchase a combination ticket to see multiple properties for a substantial discount. (Astors' Beechwood, Belcourt Castle, and Rough Point, not operated by the preservation society, are not included in the combination ticket.) The hours and days the houses are open in fall and winter do change, so it's wise to call ahead. The Breakers, the Elms, and Marble House are decorated for Christmas and open for tours daily from mid-November to New Year's Day.
