Admiral Fitzroy Inn Review

This tidy 1854 Victorian and former convent provides a restful retreat in the heart of Newport's bustling waterfront district. The inn's namesake commanded the Beagle, whose most famous passenger was Charles Darwin. Antiques decorate the rooms, which have either an antique brass or hand-carved wood bed. All rooms have access to the rooftop deck with a view of the harbor. Two rooms have semiprivate decks and hot tubs. Continental breakfast includes fresh fruit, hard-boiled eggs, granola, and ham and cheese.
