A jazz trio plays on weekday evenings and sunny Sunday afternoons at Jamestown's signature restaurant, while patrons dine alfresco under copper beech tree that dates to the 18th century. An herb garden, fieldstone walls, and white linen complete the picture. You can munch on splendid salads, Northern Italian pasta dishes, meats prepared with a Continental flair, and a handful of Asian-fusion dishes. Memorable are the tamarind-glazed ribs and braised-beef cassoulet appetizers and the maple-soy glazed tuna pad thai as an entrée. Reservations are essential on summer weekends.

Stopped in without a reservation last week (next time we will call first) and had a wonderful time. The restaurant is just beautiful with all kinds of rooms to dine in. We ended up dining at the bar and I had a superb espresso martini, though almost too big. Nice, contemporary wine list. We shared the heirloom tomato salad (gorgeous and fresh) and I had the tuna pad thai. Who knew a predominantly Italian restaurant in Jamestown could come up with such a great pad thai!!?? My date had the ribeye and it was thick and juicy. Loved his mashed potatoes. Finished up with the dessert sampler. Nice to escape the Newport madness. I will be back.
