In a cleverly converted garage on lower Thames Street, this French bistro has high ceilings and an open floor plan that give it a sophisticated vibe. Danish-born chef-owner John Bach-Sorensen has added a 10-seat chef's table for those who want kitchen interaction. Fresh seafood, especially the crispy salmon served with mushroom-asparagus orzo risotto and Cabernet sauce, continues to please fans. Hand-cut beef fillets and grilled pizzas are also popular, and the bar pours a great espresso martini. Overseen by Bach-Sorensen, you can play guest chef for a night for your privately invited guests.

My husband and I had a wonderful meal here on a recent weekend getaway. We sat outside under a covered area. The Crispy Salmon was amazing as was the Steak AuPoive. Great wine selection as well! The meal and walk to the restarant was worth it!

I had a lovely lunch here- great food and service and would absolutely return here. The ambiance is sophisticated but cozy and I'd recommend this spot to anyone!

I was at this restaurant recently. After being ignored at the door, I found my own table. After being ignored for a before dinner drink, I got my own. After being ignored at my table for food service, I left. I travel to Newport regularly on Navy business. In light of this experience, I am not planning to return to this restaurant. I do plan to share this experience with others.
