Crescent Beach

Crescent Beach Review

This 3-mi beach runs north from Old Harbor, and its white sands become wider and crowds thinner the further away from town you go. It is divided into three smaller beaches, each with its own access point from Corn Neck Road. Furthest north is Mansion Beach. Look for the Mansion Beach Road sign, then follow the dirt road to the right to park in the two-level ruins of the old Searles Ball Mansion. It's a short hike to reach what is easily one of New England's most beautiful beaches; in the morning, you may spot deer on the dunes, while surfers dot Jerry's Point to the north. Closer to Old Harbor, Scotch Beach, with its small parking lot directly off Corn Neck Road, is a mecca for young adults who party, play volleyball, skimboard, and surf cast for striped bass.
