Doone's Inn at Oakmont
Doone's Inn at Oakmont Review
This small golf-oriented inn sits on top of a hill above the town of Oakmont. The Oakmont Country Club golf course, which hosted the 2007 U.S. Open, is across the street from the Inn, 15 mi from Downtown. Rooms are decorated in a golf motif. A complimentary breakfast is served.

Stayed at Doone's Inn for the 2007 PGA Open at Oakmont CC. Met great people while we were there - breakfast was excellent! The hospitality from the Innkeeper and her staff could not have been better. Would recommend very highly to anyone seeking a comfortable and inviting resting place while exploring the neighborhood or playing golf at Oakmont CC.

I have to disagree 100% with the other post. I have stayed at the Inn for many seasons now, and each time is more refreshing than the rest! Doone really stives to present a friendly, comfortable, and classy environment. The upgrades over the last few years have really put the Inn over the top! Hats off to a wonderful Inn and Innkeeper!

Rooms are beautiful at Doone's Inn, but the current owner is less than friendly. Run more like a hotel than a B&B, do not expect a warm welcome or even any cold cereal if you can't eat the breakfast.

I thought it might be fun to try to visit all of the Big 10 campuses in a year (or thereabouts).
Anyone have any suggestions for not-to-be-missed campus or area sites?
