Many museums and sights are open 10–5; a few stay open late one or two evenings a week, and a number are closed on Monday. Historic area sights are open daily, with longer hours in summer, but it's wise to check ahead.

Most downtown pharmacies are open 9–6. Hours vary in the outlying neighborhoods and suburbs.

Bars and nightclubs close at 2 am, but there are several after-hours clubs for the serious night owls.

Downtown shopping hours are generally 9:30 or 10 to 5 or 6. Many stores are open until 9 pm on Wednesday.
