You'll need about one hour to walk through Society Hill, more if you tour the Powel and Physick houses. If walking is your main interest, save this excursion for a warm day, because it can be quite windy along the waterfront. On summer weekends Penn's Landing bustles with festivals and Head House Square turns into a farmers' market with locally grown products and baked goods and a marketplace for fine arts and crafts.
