Doubletree Philadelphia

$$$-$$$$, Center City

User Rating: **** 3.8

Fodor's Review:

The hotel's sawtooth design ensures that each room has a peaked bay window with an eye-popping 180-degree view. Rooms on the east side look out toward the Delaware River. The four-story atrium lobby lounge observes one of the busiest corners of Philly's theater district, directly across the street from the handsome Academy of Music and a short walk from the Kimmel Center. Guest rooms are decorated in earth tones and have modern furnishings. Café Academy has unusually good contemporary food and pleasant service. The upscale Standing O Bar & Bistro serves lighter fare.

Penn Relay trip

Posted by Barbara from San Diego on 5/15/06

My son and I stayed here at the end of April, 2006. Our room had two queen beds. The room and bathroom were very clean, the beds were very comfortable. The bathroom had Neutrogena products, the shower was good and strong and there were plenty of lovely thick towels. There is no magnifying mirror, but the hair dryer is good. We ate in the restaurant one night and were very pleased with the quality of the food. We live in California, and you can find lemonade to drink everywhere. We were amazed that it's just not available in most places in Philly, just soda or water. Maybe this is an East coast thing. The service was friendly and efficient and the concierge was very helpful. We would stay here again.
