Fodor's Review:

This 25-floor hotel is a short walk from Rittenhouse Square. The generously sized guest rooms have a contemporary red color scheme. Those on the Club Level share a private lounge. The Elephant & Castle serves British food and an extensive selection of draft beers. There's also a "quiet floor" that bans children and tour groups and housekeeping dares not enter before 10 AM.

Terrible Service

Posted by czkitchu from Massachusetts on 5/10/07
Accommodations were fine but encountered very non-caring and defensive staff. A Philly friend of mine wanted to surprise me and welcome me w/flowers/champagne which he left w/a staff person. I never received them. Also, my room was not cleaned and I was told the "privacy" card was on the door which neither I nor my companions put there!

Great for a Basic Upper-Medium Place to Stay!

Posted by TheTripChick from Seattle on 3/4/07
We stayed at the Crowne Plaza for a total of four nights, and it is a basic, upper-medium place to stay. It is pretty centrally located (I was able to walk most of the city in a day), across the street from a Starbucks (for all you fans) and several great local street-food vendors (gotta have an authentic Philly pretzel!!!!). The staff is accomodating and helpful, and they go out of their way (upgraded bed linens, sleep package) to make sure you grab a good night's sleep with them. I would absolutely stay here again.
