In the middle of the city's French Quarter, this luxury hotel has more of a hip feeling than some of its stuffier Federal-style neighbors. The simplicity of Shaker quilts inspired the lobby floor, done in seven types of granite and marble. Shades of brown, gold, green, and blue hues give the rooms a warm, tranquil feel. Rooms feature large desks and flat-screen televisions. Spacious bathrooms include glass-enclosed showers and oversize tubs. Chez Colette, the trademark brasserie, pays homage to the famous writer—vintage French advertisements decorate the walls.
