Fodor's Review

A favorite among University of Pennsylvania students and professors, this stalwart specializes in locally sourced, sustainable foods including free-range chicken with sage-roasted cheese pumpkin panzanella and pasture-raised pork chops stuffed with apples and pears. At first reading, seasonings and sides can seem comically complicated, but the combos do work. The small, lively bar has a number of American beers on tap and in bottles; the wine list, too, is all-American.

Vegetarians will find plenty to please them here. Reservations are recommended.

Community Activist provides great local food

It is a great place to have excellent food that is organic, locally grown, and very tasty. If you want a quick meal and a bit cheaper, try the bar. Their menu varies from the restaurant but the quality of the food does not.

great food, horrible service

The food is great (although the desserts are overpriced and unexciting). However, I'd only recommend going to this place if you happen to exude an aura of wealth. Otherwise, the waitstaff are going to treat you like an idiot (except when they're ignoring you).

Best Return-To Restaurant in Philly (under $50)

I lived in Philly for 2 years, and come back to this restaurant every year because the food is simply that good (especially for a vegetarian). Reservations are a must. They have a fantastic variety of tastes and cuisines, and it is simply the best overall bet for Philadelphia (though the waitstaff may be a bit less than perfect sometimes).
