Fodor's Review

This cosmopolitan little hotel in a refurbished 19th-century commercial building on the fringe of Old City has its own brand of urban charm. The owner is a well-regarded Italian-born restaurateur who also runs Ristorante Panorama, the downstairs eatery, and Il Bar, with perhaps the best wine cellar in the city. Rooms are comfortable and rather European looking, some with Chippendale-style furniture and floral wallpaper, others with a more modern feel; 12 rooms have fireplaces,

and 20 of them also have whirlpool baths. Some have views of the Delaware River.

Great little hotel in historic district of Philly

Great small hotel close to historic sights, beautifully appointed rooms, excellent service from desk managers, Antonio and Derick, plus has a good Italian restaurant. Will highly recommend to friends.

A room with a view (of I-95)

Unless you can get a great rate, I recommend you look elsewhere. My room was small (think of your last trip to Paris) with an excellent view of the highway. We didn't keep the windows open for the noize. Check in consisted of being told to park the car ourselves, pay in cash UP FRONT for the duration of the stay (with no receipt), then carry our bags to the room. Do yourself a favor and eat at the Panorama hotel in the lobby, then head out to

a hotel somewhere else.
