This bustling convention hotel -- the biggest in Pennsylvania -- fills an entire city block. It has so many corridors that even the staff sometimes gets lost. For an intrinsically impersonal type of place, the Marriott tries hard to meet special needs; it also offers some of the lowest rates in its price category. The five-story lobby atrium has a water sculpture, piano music (live and taped), and greenery (real and fake). The more than 1,400 guest rooms are brightly decorated. You can request, at no additional cost, one of the 250 "rooms that work," with adjustable desks and extra lighting and outlets. The hotel has a sushi bar and coffee shop.
