The neo-Romanesque former home of Raymond and Mildred Pitcairn, built between 1928 and 1939, sits on a hill near Bryn Athyn Cathedral, the construction of which Raymond had supervised. A tour showcases the home's chapel, tower, and master bedroom, and the museum's art and artifacts that illuminate the history of religion; many of these were purchased as models for the craftsmen at work on the cathedral. On display are stained-glass windows from around 1200, a "spirit door" from an Egyptian tomb, and a marble statue of Minerva, along with other treasures representing ancient Egyptian, ancient Greek and Roman, Asian, medieval European, and Native American cultures.
