Schuylkill Center for Environmental Education

Fodor's Review:

This sanctuary consists of more than 500 acres of wildflowers, 6 mi of winding trails; and the 8-acre Pine Plantation. You may spot deer, hawks, Canada geese, red foxes, and other animals. Hands-on exhibits in the Discovery Museum explain the flora and fauna, and there are nature programs on weekends. The bookstore and gift shop follow the nature theme. Bus 9 stops at Ridge Avenue and Cathedral Road, 1 mi away.

  • Cost: Free
  • Open: Museum Mon.-Sat. 8:30-4:30
