Mario Lanza Museum

Fodor's Review:

In this museum you'll find memorabilia devoted to the famous tenor and Hollywood star (1921-59). Lanza was supposedly moving a piano into the Academy of Music when he seized the opportunity to sing from its stage—and was discovered. Arturo Toscanini said that Lanza had perhaps the greatest natural voice of the century. Lanza's birthplace, at 634 Christian Street, is about a block away.
