Fodor's Review:

Built in 1883 and formerly named Gazela Primeiro, this 177-foot square-rigger is the last of a Portuguese fleet of cod-fishing ships. Still in use as late as 1969, it's the oldest and largest wooden square-rigger still sailing. As the Port of Philadelphia's ambassador of goodwill, the Gazela sails up and down the Atlantic coast from May to October to participate in harbor festivals and celebrations. It's also a ship school and a museum. An all-volunteer crew of 35 works on ship maintenance from November to April, while it's in port.
