Fodor's Expert Review Bibou
Editor's Note: This location is no longer in operation.
Tiny Bibou is one of the city's best BYOBs, as evidenced by how many tables are occupied by French speakers who'd otherwise seem out of place in this tiny restaurant on a nondescript South Philly block. The other proof is in the intensely flavorful and ever-changing menu, which can feature anything from perfectly crisped scallops to pig's feet stuffed with foie gras. The restaurant is a true maman et père—dining-room doyenne Charlotte Calmels will charm you, while her husband, chef Pierre Calmels, will emerge from the kitchen to ask how you liked the sweetbreads.
Bibou is tasting-menu only; $125 gets you seven courses, cash only.
