Fodor's Expert Review Historic Smithton Inn

900 W. Main St., Ephrata, Pennsylvania, 17522, USA Fodor's Choice

Hand-sewn quilts coexist comfortably with iPod docking stations and electric vehicle chargers at this B&B, a former tavern built in 1763. The inn has been authentically restored and filled with hand-tooled furniture that is true to the period, much of it designed and built by the former owner, an artist who worked closely with local craftspeople. All the rooms have fireplaces and many have canopy beds. A breakfast buffet is included. Friends of the owners, who are winemakers, have opened a wine bar on the premises, featuring their Weathered Vineyard wines, light fare, and live music on weekends.
