Getting Here and Around

While some of these attractions can be reached by public transportation, the only practical way to tour Bucks County is by car.

Bus Travel

To get to Valley Forge, you can take SEPTA Bus 124 from 13th and Market streets (it leaves twice an hour starting at 4:30 am) for King of Prussia (including the Plaza and the Court) and continue on to Valley Forge National Historical Park.

Car Travel

For the Brandywine Valley, take U.S. 1 south from Philadelphia; it is about 25 miles away, and many attractions are on U.S. 1. To reach Wilmington, pick up U.S. 202 south just past Concordville or take I–95 south from Philadelphia.

For Valley Forge, take the Schuylkill Expressway (I–76) west from Philadelphia to Exit 327 (Mall Boulevard). Make a right onto Mall Boulevard and a right onto North Gulph Road. Follow the road 1½ miles to Valley Forge National Historical Park. Mall Boulevard also provides easy access to the Plaza and the Court shopping complex.

The most direct route to Bucks Country is I–95 north, which takes you near sights in the southern part of the county. Before you cross into New Jersey, take the exit and continue on Route 32, which runs along the Delaware past Washington Crossing Historic Park. New Hope is about 40 miles northwest of Philadelphia.

Train Travel

Amtrak has frequent service from Philadelphia's 30th Street Station to Wilmington's station at 100 South French Street on the edge of downtown. It's a 25-minute ride.

SEPTA's Wilmington/Newark commuter train has hourly departures to Wilmington from Philadelphia's Suburban, 30th Street, and Market East train stations. The trip takes one hour.
