Domaine Drouhin Oregon

Domaine Drouhin Oregon Review

When the French winery magnate Robert Drouhin ("the Sebastiani of France") planted a vineyard and built a winery in the Red Hills of Dundee back in 1987, he set local oenophiles abuzz. Be forewarned, though: this is one winery where you're expected to buy some wine if you tour, and the wines are not cheap. Ninety acres of the 225-acre estate had been planted. The hillside setting was selected to take advantage of the natural coolness of the earth and to establish a gravity-flow winery. A visit is well worth planning for, however, because the tasting includes Drouhin wines from both Oregon and France, allowing you to compare the two.
